《夏日的最后一朵玫瑰》是一首古老的爱尔兰民歌，是世界上广为流传的爱尔兰抒情歌曲。它原来的曲名叫作《年轻人的梦》，后来一个叫米利金的人给它重新填词，改名为《布拉尼的小树林》。到了19世纪爱尔兰的著名诗人托马斯 摩尔（Thomas Moore）对它发生兴趣，可是他对前面那两种词都不满意，于是，又重新为它填了词，改名为《夏日的最后一朵玫瑰》。歌词内容略带伤感，作者借夏天最后一朵玫瑰来比喻爱情和青春即将凋谢，抒发对美好事物逝去的依恋心情。
