        Today is the forth Thursday of  November , ThanksgivingDay . The holiday is a typical American holiday . It is historical , nationaland religious holiday that bagan with the Pilgrims . 

今天是十一月的第四个星期四，感恩节。这个节日是个典型的美国节日。它是始于英国清教徒的一个历史性的国家和宗教节日。    

 

             

         The first Thanksgiving Day was celebrated by the English settlers in Plymouth , Massachusettson  December  13, 1621 . The settlers  who were called "Puritans" in their native land  because they wanted to"purify" the Church of England .They were persecuted in Britain , soin 1620 they sailed to the New World on the ship named Mayflower with 102people .After 66 days at sea , they landed at what is now Plymouth in the icyseason . The first winter was terrible , and only half of them survived .

    第一个感恩节是在1621年12月13日由居住在马萨诸塞州普利茅斯的英国定居者举办的。这些人在他们的祖国被称为“清教徒’，因为他们主张简化英国的宗教仪式，在英国他们受到迫害。 因此在1620年他们102个人驾驶着名为”五月花“的船驶向了美洲新大陆。在海上漂泊了66天之后，在天寒地冻的季节他们登上了现在叫做普利茅斯的土地。第一个冬天是残酷的，他们只有一半人幸存下来。

The next year , the native Indians became their friends and tanght them how toplant corn and other things for food .The Pilgrims reaped a good harvest in thefall .Thus they invited Indians to have a big feast outdoors at long tables to thanks God for his love and mercy .They ate ,drank and played games for three days .
 
    第二年．本土的印第安人成为了他们的朋友并且教会了他们如何种植玉米和其它粮食作物。那个秋天清教徒们获得了大丰收。因而他们邀请印第安人来参加露天盛宴，摆上长长的桌子来感谢上帝的博爱和慈悲。他们持续三天吃饭，喝酒，娱乐。

     在那之后，感恩节会不定期的举办。第一个全国性感恩节是乔治.华盛顿在他的就职演说中确定下来的，1864年里肯总统指定11月的最后一个星期四为感恩节，国会于1941年宣布每年的11月的第四个星期四为感恩节。

Todaythe Americans usually hold a big family dinner to celebrate the holiday ,which often lasts four days .They have such traditional food as roast turkey ,pumpkinpie , apples ,cranberry sauce ,squash and so on .

如今美国人通常举办盛大的家庭宴会来庆祝这个节日，持续四天。他们吃许多传统食品，例如烤火鸡，南瓜饼，苹果，越橘酱和南瓜等。
